SM City Marikina celebrated the launch last October 25 with a rocking night filled with song, dance, and all-around festive fun. Read on to find out more about what went down as well as the snap-worthy pieces you can check out.

SM City Marikina Christmas Launch
The event kicked off with a rousing rendition of holiday hits played by amazing violinist Micha Torres, who sparkled as she worked the stage.
The set was followed by special dance performances by the Junior High Dance Club of St. Scholastica’s Academy of Marikina and ADHIKA.
Opening Remarks
The program proper was then hosted by the always entertaining Janeena Chan as hyped up the crowd for the evening ahead. There were also opening remarks made by SM City Marikina Mall Manager. Francis Brian Cruz, followed by the Mayor of Marikina City, Hon. Marjorie Ann Teodoro.
Mr. Cruz shared the reason for the season, “Through the Christmas festivities at SM, we hope to strengthen the ties that bind us to our loved ones. Like the ribbons wrapped in our holiday decors, it is a symbol of family connection and shared joy. May this season bring us closer as we celebrate love, laughter, and togetherness.”
Mayor Teodoro also shared a few words of her own regarding the holidays, “It’s always a pleasure and a joy to be back here in SM, where the spirit of Christmas is truly alive. Itong kapaskuhan, it’s also a way to bring families together, share laughter, and syempre, ‘yung memories natin tuwing Pasko. Let’s make this Christmas a rocking Christmas!”
The Marikina City Mayor also added, “Every year dito sa SM Marikina, it’s more than just lights and sounds.” A statement which supports the latest initiative of SM Cares, which is the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of the company, and Toy Kingdom for this year: SM Besties of Joy.
SM Besties of Joy
These stuffed toys are worth P330 and come in pairs–one to keep for yourself and another that will be donated to one of SM’s beneficiary partners. These adorable bunnies come in multiple colors, each with their own names: Rumi (purple bunny), Nana (red bunny), Tala (yellow bunny), Hannie (white bunny).
The special promo will run until December 25 with 72 participating SM Supermalls nationwide!
Digital Christmas Village
SM also announced a digital Christmas Village with QR codes available around the malls so you can scan and play. There are also prizes up for grabs and this promo runs until December 26!
Santa and the Holisquad
To truly usher in major holiday vibes at SM City Marikina, Santa Claus and some holiday-themed mascots made a dynamic entry during the song-and-dance number by Madison Events, Inc. Visitors can have a meet and greet with Santa and the Holisquad so stay tuned for the designated dates.
The Rockin’ Holiday launch’s grand finale was a special countdown to turn on all the Christmas lights as a burst of confetti rained down on attendees. (My tote bag caught a bunch of it!)
