Our Queen of the North takes on another iconic role! Meet your new Lara Croft for Prime Video’s\u00a0Tomb Raider\u00a0<\/em>series. Lara Croft was the\u00a0<\/em>’90s video game poster girl with her likeness splashed on the pages of video game magazines.<\/div>\n

But with every joyful Tomb Raider<\/em> news, I always expect another round of comments weirdly obsessing over Lara Croft’s appearance. And if we want to get “biblically accurate” with her look then the live-action Ms. Croft should be a bunch of polygons stuck together.<\/div>\n

I am so down with Turner rocking the outfit and the red shades from the classic video game series. I also appreciate that this initial look portrays a strong physique that can kick butt!<\/div>\n

So what is my personal experience with the franchise?<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
I was a kid when the classic Tomb Raider\u00a0<\/em>series first dropped and would sneak in some game time while my older siblings were away from the PlayStation 1 console. I recall being laughably bad at the game ‘coz I would keep setting off the booby traps (no pun intended) and get so frustrated that I would just hang around at the training area located in her mansion. And then I would try to outrun the elderly butler and try to get him stuck in between the obstacle course.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
I also remember when the live-action movies hit the theaters and “Elevation” by U2 got stuck in my head. I also tried playing the grittier reboot trilogy from the 2010s, which leaned towards survival and also had its own live-action adaptation, and I have concluded that maybe I’m just bad at raiding. There was also an animated series that came out based on the franchise so the fandom is alive and well.<\/div>\n

And now I don’t have to struggle through the gameplay to enjoy the story when the live-action series comes out. Although, I am strongly considering playing again someday. Read on for the official release.<\/div>\n

To celebrate the start of production Amazon MGM Studios debuts first-look image of Turner featuring iconic elements of the Lara Croft video game character\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

CULVER CITY, California\u2014\u00ad\u00ad\u00adThursday, January 15\u2014Today, Amazon MGM Studios announced that production is underway on <\/span>Tomb Raider<\/span>, marking the kick-off with a first-look image of Sophie Turner as Lara Croft in the new Prime Video series,<\/span>Tomb Raider.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The Prime Video series <\/span>Tomb Raider <\/span>is based <\/span>on the iconic <\/span>Tomb Raider<\/span> video game franchise, which follows the adventures of world-famous archaeologist and adventurer Lara Croft.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The series stars Turner as Lara Croft, alongside recently announced cast Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Bill Paterson, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie, and August Wittgenstein.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The series is led by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) serving as creator, writer, executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Chad Hodge as co-showrunner and executive producer; they are joined by Jonathan Van Tulleken who will serve as director and executive producer.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
